Evidence-Based

T2 supplements are incredibly safe and effective and thyroid patients can benefit tremendously from their use.

I’ve been supplying and manufacturing T2 supplements for several years and throughout the time, my T2 supplements have been used by tens of thousands of thyroid patients.

During that time we have also accumulated more reviews than any other product on the market (over 1,000 reviews) and here’s what I’ve learned:

How T2 Impacts Thyroid Patients

Provided you are taking the right dose (which is easy as long as you follow the directions on the back of your bottle), you have about an 80% chance of seeing positive side effects.

Of the remaining 20%, about 10-15% will experience no discernable benefit and the remaining ~5% will see some type of unwanted symptom.

There’s nothing magical about this breakdown and it tracks pretty well with other thyroid support supplements that are well formulated.

And compared to thyroid medications like levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3), it’s actually a little more favorable.

Levothyroxine scores a 5.1 out of 10 (1) and liothyronine scores a 6.9 out of 10 (2) based on the reviews from drugs.com.

Based on my data, T2 performs around 8.0 out of 10, though this number is probably biased because of how people view pharmaceutical companies and levothyroxine in general.

But if we take these numbers at face value, it’s still more favorable than either of those thyroid hormones.

What should you expect from taking it? Here are some of the positive effects that real patients experience:

“I feel more energetic and balanced.”

By far, the most positive side effect seen with T2 is an uplift in energy.

One patient noted, “After years of battling low energy despite medication, Essential T2 gave me the boost I desperately needed. I feel more awake and ready to tackle the day.”

This isn’t surprising given T2’s role in ramping up mitochondrial activity and ATP production, thereby providing cells with the energy they need to function (3).

“Weight loss finally seems within reach.”

Probably the most common reason thyroid patients turn to T2 is due to its effects on weight loss.

Many patients have reported that their basal metabolic rate appears increased, which helps them lose weight with less effort.

One thyroid patient commented, “I’ve been on thyroid medication for years with little success in weight loss. Since starting Essential T2, I’ve noticed a real difference. My body feels leaner, and I’m finally shedding those extra pounds.”

This effect is similar to that seen with thyroid medications like T3 (4) and there’s evidence to suggest it may even be stronger.

“A noticeable improvement in thyroid symptoms.”

Many thyroid patients report that taking T2 improves overall thyroid function.

Users have described benefits such as a decline in brain fog, cold sensitivity, fatigue, hair growth, and digestion.

“It feels like my thyroid is finally working the way it should,” one review read.

This benefit, coupled with the fact that T2 can be used with all other thyroid medications and hormones makes it attractive to those who feel like they aren’t at 100% taking levothyroxine alone.

“Minimal side effects and a smooth transition.”

How about side effects? T2 is generally well tolerated, provided you stay within the recommended dosing range of 100 to 300 mcg per day.

While side effects do occur, they are generally mild and typically disappear after 1-2 weeks as the body acclimates to your dose of T2.

One thyroid patient stated, “I was a bit nervous about trying a new supplement, but the transition was so smooth that I hardly noticed any issues.”

And this experience is the norm, not the exception, based on my experience.

“It’s a perfect complement to my thyroid meds.”

It’s important to understand that while T2 is incredibly helpful to thyroid patients, it’s not meant to be a replacement for traditional thyroid medication.

Instead, it’s meant to be combined with other thyroid hormones to provide a more complementary thyroid hormone profile.

One thyroid patient stated the following:

“I’ve been on levothyroxine for years, but adding Essential T2 has really helped me fine-tune my thyroid function”.

What About Negative Side Effects?

I’m not here to feed you all of the positives without the negatives, which I think is what most people are concerned about.

If you’re looking for some of the more critical reviews of T2, here they are:

“I took this for 6 weeks and I actually felt worse”

This is a pretty rare response, but it can certainly happen.

Some thyroid patients who take T2 report that they feel worse while taking it.

It’s hard to say exactly why this happens, but it probably just has to do with the fact that their body doesn’t need T2 thyroid hormone and, instead, needs more of other thyroid hormones.

Unfortunately, thyroid lab testing is not an exact science so even with everything at your disposal, trial and error is still required in most situations.

“This supplement made me extremely dizzy to the point of almost fainting”

This is not something we typically see, but I’ve included it here to give you an idea of how some people react.

Dizziness is a side effect that is seen with all thyroid hormones, including levothyroxine (5), but luckily doesn’t occur very often.

It’s difficult to pinpoint an exact number, but it’s certainly below 5% of people.

“Unfortunately, it didn’t do anything at all.”

As far as negative side effects go, this is the most common of all and the most common reason that people request a refund:

They feel that they didn’t get any benefit from taking it.

Breaking this side effect down is a bit more complicated because it’s really hard to know if the person was using it correctly (for instance, were they taking it with food?), whether they took it long enough (it takes a minimum of 6 weeks to take effect), and what their expectations were going into it (were they expecting it to cure their thyroid problem when the truth is that it just supports thyroid function, etc.).

It’s hard to know what any individual person experiences, but I can say based on our experience that roughly 5-10% of people who take it will experience no benefit at all (positive or negative).

But looking at the odds, you have a much higher chance of experiencing some benefit rather than no benefit, which is why I still think taking T2 is a no-brainer for thyroid patients.

There’s a lot of misinformation out there when it comes to T2 use and I’ve debunked many of the common myths that are propagated by doctors and thyroid patients alike.
