Can Thyroid Glandular+ be taken with my thyroid medication?
Absolutely! Thyroid Glandular+ was formulated to work with all thyroid medications, including T4 formulations, T3 formulations, NDT formulations, and compounded thyroid medications.
For best results, I do recommend that you take Thyroid Glandular+ on an empty stomach and at least 30-60 minutes away from your thyroid medication (before or after).
Does this product contain animal ingredients?
Yes! Thyroid gland powder, adrenal gland, thymus, and spleen are all sourced from bovine (cow).
How do you take Thyroid Glandular+?
Take 2 capsules each day before noon at least 30-60 minutes away from your thyroid medication (if you take any) and food.
You can take up to 4 capsules each day as the maximum dose. It’s not required to be taken away from food, but it is preferable to do so when possible!
How long will it take to see results?
Thyroid function is slow to respond when compared to other hormone systems in the body.
It takes 6 weeks of daily use of any thyroid hormone or thyroid support supplement before your body will reach a steady state, which means it will take this long before it completely enters your system.
It’s usually around this time that you will start to see changes in how you are feeling, but I recommend using any thyroid support supplement or medication for at least 90 days before determining whether or not it’s working for you.
What animal does the thyroid gland come from?
The thyroid gland comes from cows (bovine sourced) that live in New Zealand and/or Argentina.
They come from these countries because these countries do not have any recorded cases of mad cow disease and because the areas are large enough to accommodate grazing on grass.
Are the animals grass-fed?
The cattle are primarily grass-fed (96%+).
How is this product different from Armour Thyroid and other NDT formulations?
Thyroid glandulars are very similar to Natural Desiccated Thyroid formulations with a few notable differences:
The first is that NDT formulations like Armour Thyroid and NP Thyroid contain standardized amounts of T4 and T3 in each unit of measurement or grain.
Given their source, thyroid glandulars also likely contain some amount of T4, T3, T2, and T1, but their dose is unknown and likely changes from lot to lot.
Another big difference is their availability.
Armour Thyroid and NP Thyroid are available only as prescriptions and require a doctor to obtain them.
